BioTech Art Idea

So today I had the opportunity to see the presentation of Kathy High and Jennifer Johung in Conversation at the Wex center for the arts part of the OSU artist series. This was an interesting look at biotechnology use in art and the relationship artists are looking at living art. I found interesting the relationship described by working with researchers to help form the art.

This brought some ideas that I have thought of how I like to incorporate the universe as a living entity in humans’ relationship with the world around us. It was brought up during the talk that there is a biological component that other living things around us help change the components of our system. That humans are changing.

This presentation has given me some new ideas about approaching concepts to my memory lose project. I may want to look into reaching out to researchers working clinically with Alzheimer’s patients and see if some of my art comfort ideas would work in real world applications.

Overall a good day back on OSU campus with bring me more ideas to pursue in my own studies.
